Carnah Publications acquires The Mid Sussex Handbook

As you may be aware, Phil and I have two businesses, Taskbusters and The Mid Sussex Handbook. Both businesses have seen strong growth in the last couple of years, to the point where we would like to concentrate on only one. We are pleased to let you know that fellow publishers, Carnah Publications, have agreed to acquire The Mid Sussex Handbook.

Carnah Publications already publishes Horsham Pages South, Horsham Pages North and Southwater Life in Sussex and looking to expand their portfolio of magazines in the area. Carnah Publications, owned by Richard Milbourn, will continue to use local printers Newman Thomson and the same distribution team for The Mid Sussex Handbook.

Richard says: “I am very excited to be publishing The Mid Sussex Handbook which has built an enviable reputation delivering 24,000 magazines door-to-door in Burgess Hill and Haywards Heath. Sharon and Phil have built a great magazine and we’ll be keen to continue their good work and to maintain the community feel of the magazine.”

Richard adds, “Horsham Publication’s strategy is to publish quality local magazines that serve the residents and keep everyone informed of local life. The magazines have no political affiliations and are open to anyone in the locality to contribute news, views and articles. There will be gradual improvements in design and content and I welcome any feedback, comments and suggestions.”

In the 12 years of running The Mid Sussex Handbook, we have grown the business to cover both Burgess Hill and Haywards Heath and have built a very loyal following of advertisers and readers. Horsham Publications will use their experience and knowledge to grow the magazines and enable us to concentrate on Taskbusters.

Carnah Publications will honour all existing advertising contracts and will be in touch separately to notify you of the changes in invoicing arrangements. Richard will edit the magazines with his team made up of Gemma Gray (Sales Manager), Dee Ryder (Client Liaison & Administrative Manager) and Clare West (Distribution Manager).

We’d like to thank you very much for all your support with the magazines, some advertisers having been with us since the beginning, and I am sure you will want to wish Richard and his team well.
